There is no doubt that the urban environment presents a unique set of challenges to both owners and their dogs. Periods of inactivity punctuated by visits to highly distracting environments such as busy parks and beaches can lead owners searching for engagement from their dogs whilst their dogs are often busy searching for something stimulating to do.
